STUCK IN LOVE
This is a zine i designed in my Typography 3 course in the professional College Of Graphic Design at Oregon State University. The assignment was to design a layout based off of a quote or monologue of your choice. I chose my favorite line from the movie “Stuck In Love” using experimental type layout.
“I brought down the mc5”
While working at Cleopatra Records as a Graphic Design intern, one of my tasks was to design the layout for the book, “I brought down the MC5” front to finish. This book was written by Michael Davis and is a biography about the band and specifically “Lenny". The book is published and is currently selling on Cleopatra’s website.
Keep us on the road | motorhead
This is a second book i designed for Cleopatra Records as i was interning. Again, i designed cover to cover focussing on layout and readability. This book is the ultimate Motorhead concert file and diary dating back to the very beginning of their days, reaching all the way up to legendary tours and dates with the iconic bands of Rock and Metal history.
A poster design based off of the second chapter of the book “How To Be a Graphic Designer Without Losing Your Soul” written by Adrian Shaughnessy titled “Professional Skills” ie: the non-designer skills required in order to become a successful designer.
A poster design based off of the third chapter of the book “How To Be a Graphic Designer Without Losing Your Soul” written by Adrian Shaughnessy titled “How To Find a Job".” The background behind the design basically entails that a designer will never stop learning. There is always something to ‘perfect’ whether that be your interview skills, communication skills, or even technological skills. The representation is abstract because a designer will never be ‘done’ learning.
The Creative Process
This is a zine i design based off of the ninth chapter of the book “How To Be a Graphic Designer Without Losing Your Soul” written by Adrian Shaughnessy titled “The Creative Process.
These are notecard designs based off of both chapters 1 and 8 of the book “How To Be a Graphic Designer Without Losing Your Soul” written by Adrian Shaughnessy.
A typographical experiment
Re / create creativity
This booklet was a project assigned in my Typography 2 course at Oregon State University. The project description was to create an imaginary Ted Talk event along with a booklet layout and deliverables. My event began with the idea that many students lose their creative thinking throughout the education system process. My speakers are hand chose real like specialists on how to “Re-discover” the creativity within.
